Faculty and Staff Appreciation Buckeye Football Game 2023

Faculty and staff have a chance to be randomly selected to receive four complimentary tickets to attend this year’s appreciation football game when Ohio State plays Youngstown State University on Saturday, Sept. 9, at noon.

Eligible faculty and staff are required to opt in for the possible opportunity to receive the complimentary football tickets. Tickets will be distributed based on a randomized selection process. Faculty and staff have from July 18 until Aug. 7 at 11:59 p.m. to opt in. Tickets are limited.

Who is eligible to be awarded tickets to this event?
Most faculty and staff (includes all campuses) are eligible to be awarded tickets for this opportunity. Some exclusions apply (e.g., any faculty or staff member with corrective action on file with the Office of Human Resources from the last two years, seasonal employees, temporary employees, fellows, contingent workers, students, graduate student employees, and non-working retirees (faculty and staff) are not eligible to receive tickets).

If I already have season tickets, am I ineligible to be selected for the Appreciation Game tickets?
No. Having season tickets does not make you ineligible to be selected to receive tickets for this game.

What if I’m unable to use my tickets?
If you are unable to use your tickets, you can transfer them using the Ohio State Buckeyes App to another eligible faculty or staff member to give them an opportunity to attend the game. Tickets cannot be returned.

Am I able to sell the tickets?
No, the tickets have no cash value and cannot be sold.

Do I have to show my BuckID or my Wexner Medical Center ID to enter the event?
If requested, you must show your Ohio State-issued identification to enter the event.

Who can I bring with me to the game?
Each employee who is selected will receive four tickets to bring three guests of their choice with them to the game. You can transfer tickets to each person in your group using the Ohio State Buckeyes App.

Will I be taxed if I accept the tickets?
No, Ohio State has determined that tickets to this particular event are not subject to taxation under IRS rules.

Am I able to get more than four tickets?
No.

What if I am chosen to receive tickets, but I’m scheduled to work?
Work directly with your supervisor. It may be necessary to schedule vacation time to participate in this activity.

If I am awarded tickets, how will I know?
A separate email will be sent by the Athletics Ticket Office to your Ohio State email with information on how to access your tickets. The email will come from athletic.tix@osu.edu no later than 10 days prior to the game.
