Dependent Tuition Assistance

The Dependent Tuition Assistance Plan (Plan) pays a portion of the instructional and general fees for an eligible employee’s spouse or unmarried dependent children who take courses at Ohio State.

Benefits Enrollment

Ohio State is committed to being a healthy workplace for all faculty and staff. Helping you to be your healthiest is good for everyone: you, your family, your colleagues, and the university. There are certain opportunities to participate in Ohio State’s health plans. The following information relates to enrollment in the university’s benefits plans.

Ohio State Travel Assistance

Staying healthy while traveling and getting care when far from home are a part of the total rewards of working at Ohio State. Any individual enrolled in one of the university-sponsored medical plans automatically has access to Ohio State Travel Assistance services as described below.

Medical Benefits

The university-sponsored medical plans provide comprehensive coverage and wellness benefits for you and your eligible dependents. All Ohio State medical plan options include preventive care with 100% coverage. Not every illness is preventable, but living healthier leads to a better quality of life, improved personal and professional productivity and lower out-of-pocket costs. From the available plan options, you choose which medical coverage and benefit levels best match the needs of you and your family.

Dependent Eligibility Requirements

The benefits available to you and your family reflect Ohio State’s commitment to offering high-quality, affordable options for your family’s health, financial and educational needs. Use the detailed information below to determine if your spouse and children are eligible for Ohio State’s medical, dental and vision benefits.

Employee Assistance Program

To support employees and their families on a wide range of challenges, responsibilities and concerns, Ohio State offers resources and benefits to help enhance the overall well-being of you and your family.

Dependent Care FSA

A Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for eligible dependent care expenses for your qualified dependents. Eligible dependent care expenses are those incurred to allow you (and your spouse, if married) to work, look for work or attend school as a full-time student.

Health Care FSA

A Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for eligible health care expenses for you and your qualified dependents. Examples of eligible expenses may include health plan deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance; eye exams, contact lenses, and glasses; prescription drugs; dental care, including orthodontia; and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and medications.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Ohio State is proud to provide access to high-quality benefits that can help support your health and financial goals as part of the total rewards available to faculty and staff. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are available to set aside pre-tax dollars to be reimbursed for eligible health or dependent care expenses.
