Your Plan for Health (YP4H), Ohio State’s employee wellness program, provides you with resources to help you thrive in your personal life, as well as in the workplace. The YP4H program is powered by Virgin Pulse and includes:

  • Habit-based tracking and ways to personalize your program in your choice of focus areas, including physical activity, nutrition, sleep, stress management, finances, relationships and resiliency.
  • A variety of opportunities to earn points and rewards, which can be redeemed as outlined below.
  • Healthy living programs.
  • Individual and university-wide challenges.
  • Helpful wellness tips to motivate and encourage you to learn more about making healthy choices.
  • Compatibility with a variety of fitness devices for automated tracking.

Additional Incentive Opportunities in 2022

Enhanced Employee Wellness Programming and Incentives

New for 2022, employees and enrolled spouses can earn a bonus incentive by participating in new or enhanced program offerings. The enhanced programming includes resources to support emotional wellbeing, weight management and preventive care. The bonus incentives include credits to members’ Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) or additional Pulse Cash for participants not enrolled in our medical plan with the completion of two of the following activities during the year:

  • My Care Checklist – Report preventive care that you receive during the year.
  • Enhanced in 2022 – Whil is an evidence-based digital training that provides on-demand access to mini-courses with audio and video sessions, tips, articles and exercises that help build personalized daily skills. Available topics have been expanded to include seven new areas, which now provide more than 1,000 sessions.
  • New in 2022 – Virgin Pulse Transform is a digital therapeutic program that utilizes devices, such as WiFi-enabled scales and a smartphone app, tailored to provide support for weight management and prediabetes. Support for high blood pressure is coming soon.
  • New in 2022 – myStrength provides 24/7 emotional well-being support through a private and secure digital platform, with resources ranging from digital self-guided care to dedicated clinical coach or counseling services.

Premium Credit

YP4H works to help cultivate a healthy work environment and provide an opportunity for you to receive important information about your health status. That effort includes a medical premium credit incentive for enrolled individuals who complete a Personal Health and Well-Being Assessment (PHA) and a verified biometric health screening. In 2022, the amount of available premium credit is $25/month for enrolled faculty and staff, or $40/month when their enrolled spouse also completes these requirements. To receive the full credit amount for 2022, complete your PHA and a biometric screening by December 31, 2021.

Quarterly Rewards

Tracking your participation in healthy activities through the YP4H Incentive Program earns rewards, including up to $75 in Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) credits (for enrolled individuals) and up to $25 in PulseCash each quarter. The points that you earn on a quarterly basis reset each January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.

If you do not use all of your HRA credits during the year in which you earn them, the funds will roll over to the following year, allowing you to use them to pay for future health care costs that you incur while you remain enrolled in medical coverage. Annual rollover funds are available after the grace period ends for the previous calendar year’s reimbursement requests, usually by the end of April. You must be enrolled in The Ohio State University Faculty and Staff Health Plan on the roll-over date for your HRA funds earned in the prior calendar year to carry over. PulseCash is available for you to redeem in the Virgin Pulse online store to purchase gift cards, health and wellness items (such as fitness tracking devices), or to donate to a variety of charitable organizations.
