- In 2019, you will have an opportunity to earn rewards more frequently through YP4H.
- The amount of HRA credits that each enrolled participant may earn will increase to $300.
- Each calendar quarter, participants may earn rewards as shown in the table below.
Your Plan for Health (YP4H), Ohio State’s employee wellness program, provides you with resources to help you thrive in the workplace and in your personal life. The YP4H program is powered by Virgin Pulse and includes:
- Habit-based tracking and ways to personalize your program in the areas where you would most like to focus, including physical activity, nutrition, sleep, stress management, finances, relationships and resiliency.
- A variety of opportunities to earn points and rewards.
- Healthy living programs and individual and university-wide challenges.
- Helpful wellness tips that motivate and encourage you to learn more about making healthy choices.
- Compatibility with a variety of fitness devices for automated tracking.
Rewards You Can Earn in 2019
Rewards include $75 in quarterly Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) credits and $25 in PulseCash each quarter.
HRA credits – The maximum annual amount of HRA credits that you can earn through the YP4H Incentive Program will increase to $300 per enrolled participant. If you do not use all of your HRA credits during the year, your funds roll over to the following year. The rollover funds are available for 2019 expenses after the reimbursement grace period, usually after April 15. To access the rollover funds, you must continue to be enrolled in Ohio State’s Faculty and Staff Health Plans and meet any other requirements in the 2019 Faculty and Staff Health Plans Specific Plan Details (SPD) Document. PulseCash^ – All Participants can earn up to $100 in PulseCash. PulseCash is available for you to redeem in the Virgin Pulse online store to purchase gift cards or health and wellness items, such as fitness tracking devices, or to donate to a variety of charitable organizations. |*The rewards you earn are dependent upon your medical plan enrollment status reflected in the YP4H portal at the time you reach each incentive level. Points reset quarterly.

Enrolled faculty or staff may receive a premium credit to reduce the cost of your employee medical plan contributions with the completion of the Personal Health and Well-being Assessment (PHA) and a verified Biometric Screening. Enrolled faculty and staff can receive $20/month by completing both requirements, and $30/month if their enrolled spouse does as well. Complete both steps in 2018 to lock in receiving the full premium credit for 2019.
New option for a fitness membership
Employees and up to three dependents (over age 18) can participate in the new Active&Fit DirectTM program, which provides access to a fitness center membership to one of more than 9,000 participating fitness centers and select YMCAs nationwide, for $25 a month (plus a $25 enrollment fee and applicable taxes). The Active&Fit Direct program is provided by American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc., a subsidiary of American Specialty Health (ASH). Active&Fit Direct is a trademark of ASH and used with permission herein. More information to come in November.
Ohio State also continues to offer options for fitness memberships on and near campus. Rec Sports and the Faculty Staff Fitness Program offer discounted rates with options to payroll deduct your membership fees.
