New Hires and Newly Benefits-Eligible Between October 31 and December 31, 2021

Newly hired and newly benefits-eligible employees have two enrollment opportunities: 2021 benefits and 2022 benefits. You must first make your benefit elections for 2021 before making 2022 benefit elections.

Elect your 2021 Benefits

2021 Elections Before 2022
You must first make your benefit elections for 2021 before making 2022 benefit elections.

You have 30 days from your eligible appointment date to elect applicable benefits. Use Workday to make these elections online through your 30-day election period.

Medical, Dental and Vision

Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • Any 2021 FSA election applies only to expenses incurred from your date of eligibility through March 15, 2022, and the entire amount you elect as a newly eligible employee will be deducted from your remaining 2021 pay.

Short-Term Disability (STD)

  • No Evidence of Insurability (EOI) required

Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance

  • Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance (VGTLI) is available for employee and spouse coverage (up to guaranteed issue amounts and subject to age reduction) and can be elected during your newly eligible window without Evidence of Insurability (EOI)
  • VGTLI child coverage is available for children up to age 26 with no EOI required.

Elect Your 2022 Benefits

2021 Elections Before 2022
You must first make your benefit elections for 2021 before making 2022 benefit elections.

As a new hire or newly benefits-eligible employee, you may make elections for 2022 benefits after your 2021 benefit elections have been submitted and processed. Please consider the following:

Medical, Dental and Vision

  • 2021 elections will roll over or you may make changes to these benefits.
  • Note that a new dental benefit offering is available beginning in 2022.
  • Any new dependents that you enroll in your health coverage will need to be verified. See Eligibility information.

Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • 2021 elections do NOT roll over. If you would like to participate in an FSA for 2022, you MUST enroll for 2022

Short-Term Disability (STD)

  • 2021 election will roll over.
  • If not elected for 2021, EOI will be required if you make a 2022 open enrollment election.

Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance (VGTLI)

  • VGTLI Employee
    • 2021 election will roll over.
    • Any coverage election or coverage increase made for 2022 through open enrollment is subject to EOI.
  • VGTLI Spouse
    • 2021 election will roll over.
    • Any coverage election or coverage increase made for 2022 through open enrollment is subject to EOI.
  • VGTLI Child(ren)
    • 2021 election will roll over.
    • You may make changes to this plan for 2022 through open enrollment with no EOI required.

You may make any 2022 benefit elections by completing the appropriate form(s) and marking the “Open Enrollment” box in Section 2, with an effective date of January 1, 2022:
