Unused Compensatory Time to be Paid Out Beginning in 2022

Unused compensatory time will be paid out starting in 2022 per the previously revised Scheduling Work and Overtime Compensation Policy 6.10. The policy states that compensatory time must be used within 365 days. The policy requires that any earned compensatory time that is not used within 365 days will be paid out with the next pay period.

Ohio State observes 11 holidays per year and provides eligible employees with a holiday benefit as outlined in the Holidays Policy. Please review the policy for employment eligibility and when the holidays are observed.

These Human Resources policies have been revised: Reduction in Force Classified Staff, Reduction in Force Unclassified Staff, Staff Severance, Staff Employment, Student Employment, Background Check, Military Leave/Reemployment Rights, Paid Time Off, Staff Recruitment and Selection, and Unpaid Leave.

Some of Ohio State’s Rules for Classified Civil Service (CCS) have been updated to align with the university’s implementation of Workday and recent HR policy revisions and will go into effect on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020.

Revised Paid Leave Policy expands parental time off eligibility, including other changes

A revised Human Resources Paid Leave Policy, 6.27, will go into effect January 3, 2021, and expand parental leave eligibility, amongst other revisions. The policy will also be renamed “Paid Time Off.”
