Ohio State names new senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources

President Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. has named Katie Hall as senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. Hall has served as the interim senior vice president since last spring and has been with Ohio State for 24 years.

Weather-Related Resources and Closing Reminders

It is important to be aware of the university’s weather-related resources and policy, know your disaster designation and learn how to check the university’s status. Although Ohio State strives to remain open, faculty and staff can be prepared by reviewing this policy and taking note of the resources.

New retirement videos help current, new faculty and staff

Human Resources is introducing four new retirement videos to help new and current employees save for the future. New faculty and staff can learn more about selecting a mandatory retirement plan. Current employees can better understand their retirement plan and how to manage investments as well as learn about fees and how they impact your retirement savings.

Annual Response Required to Confirm Other Medical Plan Coverage for Dependents

If an employee covers a spouse or dependent child on Ohio State's medical plan, they will receive an annual request for information about any other medical coverage they may have. The request is sent from Luminare Health (formerly Trustmark), Ohio State’s claims administrator. A response is required, even if their dependent does not have other coverage.

The Ohio State University Child Care Program is celebrating its 50th year of providing high-quality, child-led care for the Ohio State community, including faculty, staff and students.

Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Awards Nominations Open

The Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award recognizes individuals and groups for their commitment to enhancing diversity at Ohio State. Faculty, staff, students, student organizations and alumni can nominate their colleagues and peers who have made diversity part of university best practices. The nomination deadline is Friday, January 26, at 5 p.m.

The Distinguished Staff Award, the university’s highest honor for staff, recognizes staff members who have made an impact at Ohio State and demonstrated the university’s shared values. The annual award honors 12 staff members for their exceptional leadership, accomplishments, dedication and service to the university. The nomination deadline is Friday, January 26, at 5 p.m.

Benefits Open Enrollment Summary Available in Workday

Faculty and staff eligible for Ohio State benefits can now review their 2024 Open Enrollment benefits summary in Workday. The summary reflects enrollment in university-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts (FSA), life insurance and short-term disability plans that will be in effect January 1 - December 31, 2024.
