Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Awards Celebrate Important Diversity and Inclusion Work throughout Ohio State
In support of encouraging important diversity work throughout the university, the Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award annually recognizes up to five recipients for exceptional diversity efforts.
Forbes has named The Ohio State University as one of America’s Best Employers in 2016. The university ranked 53rd in Forbes’ list of 500 employers—securing the top spot in the Big Ten, second in Ohio employers and in the top 15 of all higher education institutions.
Ohio State has been listed as one of 19 universities to be awarded 2016 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs, according to a national study.

The Ohio State University Department of Athletics has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Sports by Forbes.com. Ohio State’s Department of Athletics was the only collegiate organization to make the list of national leaders in sports employment.
Open Enrollment for 2022 will be November 1-15, 2021. Open Enrollment is the annual opportunity for eligible employees to evaluate benefit options and make elections for the coming year. This year’s changes include a new dental plan offering and an enhanced incentive for participating in new wellness programs via Your Plan for Health (YP4H).
Career Roadmap is a modern compensation and job classification model that will provide transparent career paths and pay ranges for staff. The employee review period is the next step toward implementing this multi-year initiative. It is the opportunity for staff to see where their position is in the framework.
Dr. Jeff Risinger will serve as the university’s next senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources, effective August 16, 2021. He will provide leadership across the university to support our values, help advance our diversity and inclusion efforts, and continue to foster a Buckeye culture that positively impacts our entire community
HR guidance about planning for the return of employees to campus was shared with faculty, staff and graduate student employees across the university to establish work expectations as we reactivate our campuses. Safe and Healthy Buckeyes also provides guidance on protocols and preparation.

Ohio State supports a drug-free work environment to provide for the health and safety of the university community. The Drug-Free Workplace Policy addresses the use of controlled substances on campus, and applies to faculty, staff, graduate associates and student employees.
The enrollment window for autumn semester 2021 tuition assistance ends Friday, August 27, 2021. Applications are required each applicable semester to receive faculty and staff tuition assistance and dependent tuition assistance.
As Ohio State continues to support flexible work arrangements - whether remote, in the office or hybrid - all employees need to appropriately document their work locations. All faculty and staff who are working remotely in any capacity need to complete an online Flexible Work Agreement and have it approved by their manager by September 30.
Faculty and staff have an opportunity to be randomly selected to receive four complimentary tickets to the Ohio State vs. University of Tulsa football game on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 3:30 p.m. Opt-in by Friday, Aug. 20, at 11:59 p.m.
