Ohio State’s Office of Student Life has again been named one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs by Diverse Issues in Higher Education. This is the fifth year in a row for this recognition.

The Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award recognizes individuals and groups for their commitment to enhancing diversity at Ohio State. Faculty, staff, students, student organizations and alumni can nominate their colleagues and peers who have made diversity part of university best practices.

Distinguished Staff Award nomination window closes January 18

The Distinguished Staff Award, the university’s highest honor for staff, recognizes staff members who have made an impact at The Ohio State University. The annual award honors 12 outstanding staff members for their exceptional leadership, accomplishments, dedication and service to the university.

Staff Career Development Grant applications accepted until January 31

The Staff Career Development Grant provides staff an opportunity to further their growth and development. Eligible staff can apply for up to $1,250 for individuals, $1,750 for groups of 2-10 and $2,000 for groups of 11 or more towards professional development, education or training costs related to job and/or career goals.

2018 President and Provost's Award for Distinguished Faculty Service

Faculty members are recognized for their contributions to the development and implementation of university policies and programs through non-administrative roles, while continuing to teach and pursue scholarship.

Staff Appreciation Week thanks Ohio State staff members and special activities are planned to celebrate staff and their contributions to the university.

Fifth Annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Football Game

In recognition for all you do, faculty and staff have the opportunity to be randomly selected to receive four complimentary tickets to the September 22 Faculty and Staff Appreciation Buckeye Football Game. Faculty and staff must opt-in to enter their name by Tuesday, July 31, at 11:59 p.m.

2018 Distinguished Scholar Award recipients announced

The Distinguished Scholar Award honors senior professors for their exceptional scholarly accomplishments and younger faculty members for their demonstrated scholarly potential.

For the fifth year in a row, The Ohio State University has been named the (614) Magazine ColumBEST Top Employer. Additionally, the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center was awarded “Best Hospital” and the Veterinary Medical Center won “Best Veterinarian/Animal Hospital.”

Weather-related resources and closing reminders

With winter upon us, it’s important to be aware of the university’s weather-related resources and policy, and know how to check the university’s status. Although Ohio State strives to remain open, faculty and staff can be prepared by reviewing this policy and taking note of the resources.

Consent needed for electronic delivery of 1095-C tax form

Form 1095-C is a required tax form that provides information about the health care coverage you had or were offered by Ohio State in 2018. If you have not yet consented for electronic delivery, please do so by February 11. Otherwise, the form will be delivered to your home address on file in the HR System by March 4.
