Office of Student Life earns recognition sixth year in a row

Ohio State’s Office of Student Life was named a Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. Focusing on workplace diversity, staffing practices and work environment, research categories include family friendliness, salary/benefits and professional development opportunities.

The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center has been honored as No. 4 on the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Diversity. This award recognizes the medical center’s commitment to inclusiveness and valuing the diversity of people and points of view with respect and fairness.

Revised HR policies to go into effect in January

As part of the HR business transformation, multiple Human Resources policies have been revised and will go into effect on January 3, 2021. The policies have been revised to improve employee experience, better align business practices and support Enterprise Project activities.

Additional resources for leave options related to COVID-19

New tools including a calculator on the leave options page can help estimate how much accrued leave can be used in combination with emergency leave offered through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Other new resources include: a step-by-step flow chart, guidance for supervisors and FAQs about expanded vacation donation and accrual.

Election Day public service for Ohio State employees

Ohio State is proud to support public service on Election Day, November 3, 2020. In response to concerns from boards of elections about ensuring that a sufficient number of people are available to serve as poll workers, Ohio State is permitting university employees to serve as poll workers during work hours on November 3, 2020.

Open Enrollment for 2021 benefits will be available November 1-15, 2020. All elections made during Open Enrollment are effective January 1, 2021. More details about 2021 benefits will be available in mid-October.
