Updated: February 2, 2026
Ohio State has launched a new Your Plan for Health (YP4H) wellness portal that offers more ways to explore wellness resources and earn rewards for the activities that matter most to you.
YP4H is Ohio State’s comprehensive wellness program designed for employees and their spouses. The portal, powered by MediKeeper, connects you to a variety of programs, tools and resources aimed at supporting healthier living, enhancing your well-being and helping you feel your best.
Employee feedback is helping to shape updates to the YP4H portal. Together, teams from MediKeeper and Ohio State are actively addressing short‑term issues and developing long‑term improvements. Additional updates will improve device syncing, connecting with Pals and other features this quarter and in the future.
Visit yp4h.osu.edu to create your new account, which is necessary prior to participating. Once your account is set up, you can start earning points and redeeming rewards throughout the year.
Below is a summary of program enhancements and answers to frequent questions.
Program overview
- Annual incentive program: Earn points throughout the year with no quarterly resets and redeem rewards at any time. The incentive points program ends Nov. 30, 2026, and you have until Dec. 31, 2026, to redeem your rewards.
- Create your account: Visit yp4h.osu.edu. (Use your full legal name and email address of your choice.) Start exploring wellness resources that matter most to you.
- Participate in what interests you: As you engage in wellness programs, challenges and tracking activities, your points add up.
- Redeem for rewards: Choose when to spend your points and redeem rewards.
Portal and app tips
- Guided navigation: Use the short “to-do list” to help you get started and keep moving forward.
- New mobile app: Download the Alaveda app (by MediKeeper, Inc.) from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Tip for mobile app users: If you prefer to register for the first time using the Alaveda mobile app, use code “osu” to set up your account.
Rewards choice and redemption explained
- Choice and flexibility in rewards: Reward selections are determined by enrollment status in an Ohio State medical plan. Once you earn points, you choose how and when to redeem your rewards by Dec. 31.
- Benefit Credit: Available to employees and spouses enrolled in a medical plan. It’s money off your medical plan premium. Employees can earn a credit of up to $300 each year. Spouses can earn up to $180 each year.
- Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) Funds: Employees and spouses enrolled in a medical plan can each earn as much as $500 per year.
- Rewards Bucks: Employees not enrolled in a medical plan can select from designated gift cards. You can earn up to $100 each year.
- New Rewards Market: One of the biggest changes this year is that you have more control over your rewards. You choose what you want to redeem, when you want to redeem it, and in the order that is best for you. Unlike in previous years, rewards aren’t automatic – you need to claim the ones you want. In the portal, select “Spend My Points” to access the Rewards Market, pick your desired reward and complete the checkout process. Once redeemed, your points are deducted, and the system starts processing your chosen reward.
Benefit Credits for medical premiums in 2026 and 2027
- How much you get: A Benefit Credit reduces your medical premium payment and is reflected on your payslip. Employees can receive up to $300 per year and spouses enrolled in a medical plan can receive up to $180 per year. The credit is distributed evenly across all pay periods throughout the year.
- How many points you need: To earn the full 2027 Benefit Credit, employees need 3,000 points in the YP4H portal and spouses need 1,800 points. Once those points are earned, they may be redeemed for your Benefit Credit. Earn points by participating in any of the activities that matter most to you. Redemption is required only once per year to receive your credit.
- Fastest way to 3,000 points (for employees enrolled in an Ohio State medical plan): You can quickly collect 3,000 points by completing a Personal Health Assessment (PHA) for 500 points, an annual well-exam, physical or biometric screening for 1,000 points and the Wellness@Work survey for 250 points. Finishing all three gives you 1,250 bonus points, totaling 3,000 points.
- When the credit applies:
- If you completed your PHA and biometric screening in 2025, you’ve already qualified for full 2026 Benefit Credit — no further action is needed to maintain your 2026 credit. The credit will be reflected on your payslip. Benefit Credit redeemed with points earned in the new wellness portal will apply to 2027.
- If you did not complete the PHA and biometric screening requirements in 2025, you can still redeem the Benefit Credit once you reach 3,000 points this year. It will apply for the remainder of 2026 and all of 2027.
Earning and using your HRA Funds
- Redeeming HRA Funds: Convert points into HRA dollars that will be deposited in your Health Equity account. These tax-free funds cover eligible health care expenses.
- Redemption Rate: Every 100 points equals $10, redeemable in $10 increments, up to $500 this year.
- Accessing Funds: HRA Funds are deposited with HealthEquity (Ohio State’s vendor), and you access and use them the same way you did last year.

- Mental and physical well-being support through LifeSpeak: Find free expert-led, on-demand resources and classes for fitness, nutrition, mental health, stress, sleep and mindfulness. - Avidon Health – wellness courses on demand: Access digital, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based programs through self-guided courses with videos, articles and audio to help build healthier habits by identifying and overcoming challenging patterns for lasting wellness.
- Challenges: You can create pal-to-pal challenges with your colleagues or join challenges open to the entire university. For now, pal-to-pal connections are limited to people within your eligibility group, but by the end of February you’ll be able to connect with others, including spouses, thanks to upcoming enhancements. University-wide challenges will occur throughout the year, with our popular annual event – Hit The Road With The Buckeyes – stepping off this fall.
Preventive care and earning points
- Significance of preventive care: Preventive care helps you maintain your health, and specific needs vary for each individual. Your health care provider can guide you on which services are suitable for your age, sex and risk factors. Developing an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider and completing an annual well visit or physical exam supports the early identification and management of potential health issues. Learn about recommended health screenings based on your age, sex and risk factors at the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force website.
- How you earn points: Participating in preventive care is one of several ways to earn points in the program. You can receive points for completing eligible activities during the program year, such as an annual well visit or physical, a biometric screening, dental cleanings, vision exams, recommended cancer screenings or eligible vaccinations.
- When an exam or vaccine is not applicable: Individual preventive needs vary, and some services are only recommended at certain ages or intervals. Only a small portion of the total program points are tied to preventive services, and there is an expansive list of other points opportunities if you are already up to date or a particular screening is not recommended for you. Points for preventive health can be awarded for the current program year, however, they cannot be awarded for services completed in prior years. If you are not eligible to receive points for a particular exam or vaccine, the program has been designed to offer a wide range of choices so you can select the activities that best support your health.
- Timeframe for earning points: Preventive services completed within the program year (Dec. 1 – Nov. 30) qualify for points for that year. For example:
- For the 2026 program year, eligible services must be completed between Dec. 1, 2025, and Nov. 30, 2026.
- Services completed in December 2026 will count toward the 2027 program year.
- Services before Dec. 1, 2025, cannot be awarded points.
- How to get the points: After completing an eligible service, you can choose how points are verified.
- One option is to upload documentation in the YP4H portal. Acceptable documentation includes an Explanation of Benefits (EOB), After-Visit Summary, Provider Form or a note from your provider on official letterhead.
- If you’re enrolled in the OSU Health Plan, you can choose to automate your health screening rewards. Please review the consent form carefully to decide whether you want to allow OSUHP to process your health care claims for the verified-only rewards. If you prefer not to provide consent, you may manually upload documentation in the portal to earn the same rewards.
- When you’ll get your points: Points are typically awarded within one week following document upload. If you choose automatic data sharing, claims may take up to 30 days to process and for your points to be awarded.
