Workday Notifications for Merit Increases

Merit notifications are being provided via Workday for the 2026 fiscal year to all Ohio State employees who receive a merit base pay increase and/or merit lump-sum amount.

Your merit notification will specify if you are receiving a base pay increase, a lump sum increase or both. If you are not receiving a merit increase this year, you will not receive a notification.

No other pay adjustments or bonuses are included in merit notification letters in Workday.

The specific steps to access your notification will depend on your organization and employee type.

For tenure, clinical, teaching, practice and research track faculty or regular, non-bargaining unit staff:

An announcement about merit will appear on the Workday home page when you log in starting August 2, 2025. The link in the announcement will take you directly to your merit notification. Navigate to your merit notification instead of the above shortcut with these steps:

  • Under your profile icon, click View profile.
  • Under your name, click Actions and select Compensation.
  • Select View Compensation Review Statement History.
  • Click on the letter PDF to open and view it.

For academic campus or Wexner Medical Center employees who are in a term, temporary, intermittent or seasonal status and are receiving merit (base pay or lump-sum)

The merit letter will be available in your Workday inbox immediately after the compensation request process is complete. Click on the inbox to open your letter. You will need to mark a checkbox to indicate receipt of the letter. After clicking “I accept,” you can go back to your merit notification by navigating to Personal on the left-hand menu and then selecting Documents.

For regular, non-bargaining unit employees in the Wexner Medical Center:

A merit letter will be delivered August 18, 2025, to your Workday inbox. Click on the inbox to open your letter. You will need to mark a checkbox to indicate receipt of the letter. The merit letter will be available to you immediately after the compensation request process is complete. After clicking “I accept,” you can go back to your merit notification by navigating to Personal on the left-hand menu and then selecting Documents.
