Ohio State Listening Survey

Update: On May 20, 2025, the following story was updated to reflect that the Ohio State Listening Survey deadline has been extended until Friday, May 23, 5 p.m.

Ohio State is conducting the Ohio State Listening Survey to collect feedback from faculty and staff May 1-23, 2025.

The survey builds on the 2024 Presidential Listening Survey and asks about your experience at Ohio State.

As Ohio State President Walter “Ted” Carter outlined in his strategic direction in November 2024, listening to employees and understanding your perspectives is a critical component to moving our institution forward and shaping future strategy and goals.

Your voice and insight are vital to the experience we cultivate for faculty and staff. This collective input will guide the actions Ohio State takes to advance our strategic aspiration to build a “workplace of choice.”

The Ohio State Listening Survey gives you the opportunity to provide your feedback in the areas of: future vision, engagement, performance management, community, workplace well-being, team work and collaboration, growth and development, change and innovation, and direct leader relationships.

Results will be shared with the campus community and information from the survey will be used to inform action planning.

Ohio State has partnered with Perceptyx, an independent third-party survey research firm, to provide a confidential survey.

There are 22 questions, and the survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

Completing the survey

On May 1, all employees eligible to participate will receive a direct email from Perceptyx. Each email has a unique link to complete the survey.

If you cannot find the email with your unique link, access the survey through the Perceptyx website. When entering the survey, you will be asked for your Employee ID. You can find your Employee ID in Workday under your profile or the top number on your BuckID.

Who is included

This survey is for campus faculty and staff who started with Ohio State by March 1, 2024.

Student employees and graduate associates are not included in this survey.

Wexner Medical Center (inclusive of the College of Medicine, Office of Health Sciences, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Health System, and OSU Physicians) closed its version of the Buckeye Experience Survey on March 7. Results are now available on MyTools and leaders can access their team-level results on the Buckeye Experience Dashboard.

Confidentiality

This is a strictly confidential survey administered by Perceptyx. To ensure privacy, results will be deidentified by Perceptyx and aggregated at the college and unit level.

Your link or Employee ID will connect your input to your organization structure, but not to your personal identity. This allows Perceptyx, a third-party vendor, to manage customized reminders and aggregate results based on things like college/unit, years of service, location, etc.

Leaders will not have access to individual responses. This includes your direct supervisor and department leader.
