Workplace Violence Awareness and New Training

We all play a part in keeping the Ohio State community safe, and it’s important to be prepared. Review the Workplace Violence Policy and complete the new training to learn what to do if threatening or violent behavior in the workplace causes a disruption to the work environment.

Each Buckeye is empowered to lead and take action to create a safe and secure environment that is free from threats and violence. Everyone is encouraged to report allegations of workplace violence. Additionally, HR business partners and anyone who supervises others is required to report allegations.

To better understand how to identify workplace violence, as well as address and report it, complete this new 30-minute training in BuckeyeLearn.

The training outlines workplace violence awareness at the university and describes a workplace culture of civility and respect. It examines the policy, describes your responsibilities, offers strategies for responding to risks, gives warning signs, identifies actions for highly charged situations, covers how to report workplace violence and provides additional resources.

The training is for everyone, including employees, people leaders, graduate associates and student employees. It replaces the previous two trainings that were separated for employees and supervisors.

Review the policy and training to better understand what is considered workplace violence and how to report incidences. Here is a list of resources to support you:
