Expanded Family Care Benefits Webinar

Join The Women’s Place, Office of Human Resources and Bright Horizons for a webinar about Ohio State’s new and expanded family care benefits. These new benefits offer eligible employees additional support for managing work, life and family responsibilities. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend this informational session.

Each one-hour webinar will cover the new and expanded 2023 family care benefits, including back-up care, primary care, pet care, tutoring, summer camps, caregiver respite, long-distance needs and other Bright Horizons offerings.

Bright Horizons is a provider of high-quality early education and child care, back-up care, and workplace education services. Ohio State has partnered with Bright Horizons to offer the following benefits:

  • Back-Up Care™: Access a network of high-quality care centers and in-home care providers for temporary care when you have a disruption in your regular care. Ohio State substantially offsets your cost through a subsidy program. Employees have a copay that can be reimbursed through the Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) up to benefit limits.
  • Family Concierge™: Time-saving, personalized guidance with a customized plan for new, ongoing and emergency child, adult and elder care.
  • Enhanced Family Supports™: Discounts for primary child care, academic support, tutoring services, enrichment programs and elder care.

These benefits are available to eligible Ohio State employees (full-time and part-time (at least 50% FTE) in a regular or term position. Please note: The Ohio State subsidy of back-up care is taxable if used.

Ohio State names new senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources

President Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. has named Katie Hall as senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. Hall has served as the interim senior vice president since last spring and has been with Ohio State for 24 years.

New retirement videos help current, new faculty and staff

Human Resources is introducing four new retirement videos to help new and current employees save for the future. New faculty and staff can learn more about selecting a mandatory retirement plan. Current employees can better understand their retirement plan and how to manage investments as well as learn about fees and how they impact your retirement savings.
