Career Roadmap Employee Review Process

Beginning March 8, 2022, more than 26,000 Ohio State staff will have the opportunity to review how their position will be mapped to the new Career Roadmap framework.

Career Roadmap is a modern compensation and job classification model developed by Ohio State to provide transparent career paths and pay ranges for staff. When implemented in fall 2022, Career Roadmap will help consistently guide how Ohio State hires, compensates and retains staff. The employee review period is the next important step toward finalizing and implementing this multi-year initiative.

All staff who are in scope for Career Roadmap will receive a DocuSign notification on March 8 showing how their position has been mapped with an opportunity to agree or provide new information to suggest a change. Staff will have until March 22 to agree or disagree.

Staff who select “I disagree” will receive a position review form to complete. Employees will have until April 13 to complete the position review form. The form asks you to provide additional, detailed information about your position and a suggested function, subfunction, band and level.

For those interested to review previous trainings, recordings and PowerPoint slides are available.

Additional resources include:

  • Online job catalog – Includes all Career Roadmap titles for staff.
  • Career band and level guide – Describes the career framework and helps determine career band and level for jobs across the institution.
  • Pay ranges article (KBA) – Explains pay ranges and geographic differences with links to two Excel files, one with regular Career Roadmap pay ranges and one with geographic differences.
  • Employee Review web page – Describes the review process and includes the overall timeline, a detailed master calendar, a link to the sample position review form and other tools.

Career Roadmap FAQs continue to be updated to include responses to the most common questions and topics of interest.

Questions about the training or Career Roadmap can be directed to your HR partner or to HRCompensation@osu.edu.
