Unused Compensatory Time to be Paid Out Beginning in 2022

Unused compensatory time will be paid out starting in 2022 per the previously revised Scheduling Work and Overtime Compensation Policy 6.10. The policy states that compensatory time must be used within 365 days. The policy requires that any earned compensatory time that is not used within 365 days will be paid out with the next pay period.

Not included are employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement that differs from the compensatory time procedures.

Workday tracks the 365-day timeframe and will automatically initiate the required compensatory time payout. Payouts will begin with biweekly pay period three (1/16/2022-1/29/2022), which will be paid on February 11, 2022. The first payout will include compensatory time accrued but unused at the time of conversion from PeopleSoft to Workday as well as compensatory time accrued but unused beginning December 20, 2020, through January 16, 2022.

Compensatory time earned January 17-30, 2021, that is not used will be paid out with February 25, 2022, paychecks and will continue each biweekly pay period thereafter, if applicable. View the full payout schedule and job aid for employees and managers.

Starting in 2022, employees will see “Compensatory Aged Payout” in Workday on the left-hand side of their absence calendar with other time off plans, such as vacation and sick.
