Bucks for Charity raises more than $1.3 million for Ohio nonprofit organizations

By collectively donating $1,355,286 to Ohio nonprofit organizations through Bucks for Charity, the university’s annual community fundraising campaign, faculty, staff and retirees showed their support to our communities.

“It is truly remarkable to surpass last year’s total in the midst of a pandemic,” said Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, APRN-CNP, FAANP, FNAP, FAAN, vice president for health promotion, university chief wellness officer, dean and Helene Fuld Health Trust Professor of Evidence-based Practice, College of Nursing, and chair of the 2020 Bucks for Charity campaign. “Buckeyes pay forward in amazing ways, and we provided the evidence of that yet again. I am so grateful for everyone who contributed to the campaign. Together we are making a positive difference in the lives of Ohioans.”

Bucks for Charity expanded in 2020 to include nearly 1,000 nonprofit organizations across the state of Ohio. Focus areas include food security, health and wellness, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs, social justice or the environment.
