OPERS Retirement Planning Seminars

The Office of Human Resources is hosting retirement education seminars on August 1 and August 13, 2018, for members of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). OPERS representatives will lead the seminars.

Bridging the Gap to Financial Wellness,” August 1, 1-3:30 p.m., Auditorium Room 1213 of the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, is a financial wellness workshop. More Details and Registration

Education Today for Retirement Tomorrow,” August 13, 2-3:30 p.m., Auditorium Room 1213 of the Ross Heart Hospital, is for OPERS members who are more than five years from retirement (Groups B and C). This is a one-hour presentation followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. More Details and Registration

Ready to Retire Pension and Health Care,” August 13, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Auditorium Room 1213 of the Ross Heart Hospital, is for OPERS members who are within five years of retirement (Group A and B). The first hour covers getting ready to retire, and the second hour covers health care, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. More Details and Registration

Enrollment open for summer term dependent tuition assistance

The enrollment window for summer semester 2019 is open March 11, 2019, through June 14, 2019. Faculty and staff can apply online or with a paper application. Dependent tuition assistance applications must be submitted each term. The student must have a social security number on file with Buckeye Link.

Complete the sexual misconduct education for faculty and staff

To help identify, disrupt and report sexual misconduct, the online course “Report = Support: Identifying and Responding to Sexual Misconduct” has been assigned to everyone’s BuckeyeLearn transcript. More information is on the Title IX website.

Career Roadmap updates include new timeline and revised framework

Scheduled to launch in 2020, Career Roadmap is a comprehensive job family model and pay structure that will provide visibility to career paths for managers and staff to foster equitable, consistent compensation practices across the university and medical center.

HR Leadership Announcement

Linette (Lin) Hillis will join Ohio State in the role of associate vice president for talent, diversity and leadership, Office of Human Resources. Lin’s first day will be on Monday, October 29, 2018.

Deadline approaching for 2018 FSA expenses

If you contributed to a 2018 Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you have until March 15, 2019, to incur eligible expenses. All reimbursement requests must be submitted to TASC no later than March 31, 2019, and any unused amounts remaining after this deadline will be forfeited.
