Faculty and staff got active in the Your Plan for Health Scarlet vs. Gray Showdown

Ohio State faculty and staff proudly represented the university’s iconic signature colors during the latest Your Plan for Health (YP4H) team challenge. After eight weeks of logging physical activity minutes, Team Gray has been named the champion of the friendly rivalry competition.

This unique intra-university challenge randomly assigned participants to either Team Scarlet or Team Gray, and encouraged them to log minutes of moderate physical activity. From May 1 – June 25, nearly 4,000 benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their benefits-enrolled spouses/same sex domestic partners competed in The Scarlet vs. Gray Showdown to earn YP4H points towards Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) credits and the chance to win one of eight Fitbit Blazes.

Trophies were also awarded to high performing colleges/units. Congratulations to the Marion Campus for having the highest average minutes and the OSU Health Plan for the highest participation percentage. View the team leaderboard and college/unit leaderboard to see where your team/area finished.

A special thank you to The Scarlet vs. Gray Showdown executive sponsor, Ohio State Athletics Director Gene Smith, who led by example and logged an impressive 3,466 physical activity minutes.

In total, participants logged 7,437,147.66 minutes of moderate physical activity throughout the Showdown. Check out some of the pictures that captured their participation below.

YP4H is Ohio State’s preventive approach for providing faculty, staff and their enrolled spouses/same-sex domestic partners with the tools and resources for living a healthy life. The newest challenge, Seize the Summer: Find Your Adventure, includes weekly challenges July 17-August 20 that support emotional well-being.
