Becoming a homeowner is now easier for Ohio State employees who want to live closer to university facilities east of downtown Columbus.
The university’s Homeownership Incentive Program, available in the University District since 1998, is now offered in the Near East Side. In April, Ohio State’s Board of Trustees approved the enhanced benefit.
The program, administered by Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT), seeks to expand homeownership in the Near East Side area, which has a significant Buckeye presence in the area close to University Hospital East and CarePoint.
PACT’s homeownership incentive program is similar to the University District program administered by Campus Partners. The program provides a zero-interest forgivable loan to faculty and staff with regular appointments of 50 percent FTE or greater.
