Appreciation Football Game recognizes faculty and staff

Whether they are teaching students, caring for patients, performing research or providing professional services, Ohio State faculty and staff support the university’s core mission every day. To recognize faculty and staff’s great contributions, the university held the third consecutive Faculty and Staff Appreciation Buckeye Football Game on September 3, 2016.

More than 11,000 employees opted in to be randomly selected to receive four tickets to the Ohio State football game against Bowling Green State University. In addition to the game, employees were invited to a university tailgate party sponsored by Nationwide, Giant Eagle and Coca-Cola.

Recipients of the Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award, Distinguished Staff Award and Distinguished Faculty Award were also recognized on the field during the game.

Here are some experiences shared by faculty and staff who attended the game and tailgate party:

“It was a beautiful day and the game was great. It was such a special treat that my whole family was able to enjoy. Once in a life time experience.” – Emily Eddy, Clinical Instructor (College of Pharmacy)

“This was the first Buckeye football game for my kids and they loved every minute of it. The tailgate party was well organized and only added to the fun. While at the tailgate party, I enjoyed meeting and talking to other university employees.” – Ray Steiner, Supervisor (Hospital Transport Services)

“Having four tickets allowed me to share the game with all my kids. The seats were great, and so was the tailgate.” – Dianne Parker, Lecturer (Mansfield)

“I was so excited to have won the tickets to the OSU tailgate party and game! It was the first one that my family and I have attended since I started working here 15 years ago.” – Sheila Johnson, Nurse Manager
