Ohio State’s timeline to implement updated federal overtime regulations is set for October 30, 2016. This is the date affected employees will become eligible for overtime. The first biweekly pay for employees who make this change will be November 25.
The Department of Labor’s updates to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) state that employees who make less than $47,476 per year in base salary will be paid overtime when working more than 40 hours in a week, except for those excluded by the statute.
Affected employees will be notified by the Office of Human Resources via email on September 26, 2016. This will be followed by additional communications from HRPs and Payroll Services.
