Third Consecutive Faculty and Staff Appreciation Football Game

Ohio State is proud to be home to thousands of dedicated faculty and staff.  The university’s success is a direct result of their commitment and teamwork.

In appreciation for their outstanding achievements, faculty and staff are invited to opt-in to be randomly selected to receive four complimentary tickets to the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Buckeye Football Game.  This year’s game is the season’s first home game when Ohio State faces Bowling Green on Saturday, September 3, 2016.  Kick-off time is at noon.

In order to be eligible to be randomly selected to receive the appreciation football game tickets, faculty and staff are required to opt-in by August 1, 2016, at 11:59 p.m.

Special game-day activities are planned and ticket recipients along with their guests are invited to celebrate before the game at the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Tailgate Party.

During the game, faculty and staff award recipients from this past academic year, including the Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award, Distinguished Staff Award and Distinguished Faculty Awards, will be recognized on the field.

The 2015 Faculty and Staff Appreciation Buckeye Football Game was a big success. Here are some experiences shared by last year’s ticket recipients:

“I am a new employee and the fact that Ohio State dedicated time to recognize employees was really nice. The fun announcement of receiving four tickets to the game was great!”

– Nikki Kanakkanatt, Manager, Young Alumni Engagement, Alumni Association

“Thanks for such a wonderful opportunity to share the Ohio State Buckeye football game experience with family members. Everything was wonderful! It was a really nice surprise to be selected for free tickets, as it allowed me to invite others who are interested in the Buckeyes a one-time chance to go.”

– Athena Yiamouyiannis, Academic Advisor, College of Arts and Sciences (pictured as the second “O” with her guests at the Tailgate Party)

“This was a very nice thing for the university to do. We enjoyed all of it, particularly the fact that we were celebrating faculty and staff surrounded by faculty and staff and their friends and family.”

– Diana Erchick, Professor, Newark Campus

“My family and I had a great time! We all felt so well cared for and enjoyed our experience from start to finish. My favorite part of the day was really feeling like a part of Buckeye Nation.”
