Ohio State Employees Receive "Forty Under 40" Award

Four Ohio State employees were named to Columbus Business First’s prestigious “Forty Under 40” list, which honors up-and-coming professionals and community leaders in Central Ohio.

The honorees from Ohio State were Angus Fletcher, Darrell Gray II, Bernie Savarese and Amy Sturm. The 2016 class of Columbus Business First’s “Forty Under 40” were selected from a pool of 240 nominations and included professionals from nonprofits, major corporations, manufacturing industries, education and government.

Dr. Fletcher received a PhD from Yale University and his expertise resides in creative writing, film studies, Darwinist approaches to literature and more. Prior to Ohio State, he taught at Stanford, USC and Teach for America.

Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Wexner Medical Center

Dr. Gray specializes in Gastroenterology and practices at CarePoint East and University Hospital. He received his Medical Degree from Howard University.

A two-time Ohio State alumnus, Bernie Savarese leads the First Year Experience team’s mission to maximize the success of first-year students at the university.

Associate Professor and Genetic Counselor, Wexner Medical Center

Dr. Sturm specializes in genetic counseling and risk assessment for cardiovascular genetic conditions. She received a degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology at Baldwin-Wallace College.

Bucks for Charity raises more than $1.2 million for central Ohio community
