More than 100 Ohio State human resources, service center and fiscal staff tuned into recent virtual presentations on HR Service Delivery. Associate Vice President Kimberly Shumate led the presentations on this important initiative, which aims to transform the way Ohio State does business by improving the ease, consistency and effectiveness of HR operations.
Shumate kicked off the presentations by giving new details on the 15 projects under the HR Service Delivery umbrella. These details included the specific outcomes expected from each project, as well as project leaders and estimated completion dates.
Project leaders for three specific efforts (DocuSign hiring templates, preboarding/onboarding and electronic personnel records) provided detailed information on their progress to date. Highlights included:
- University-wide hiring templates are currently being piloted by colleges and units that use DocuSign, and will be rolled out across campus starting in July.
- Extensive research on preboarding practices (the time between when a new employee signs an offer letter and his or her first day at Ohio State) across the university was recently completed, and will inform implementation of initiatives.
- A central electronic repository of consistently maintained personnel files is the goal. Policies and standard operating procedures will be aligned to support this new way of doing business.
