Federal Regulations Expand Overtime Eligibility

Changes to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) released by the U.S. Department of Labor on May 18, 2016, updated the criteria determining which employees are eligible for overtime pay.

The Department of Labor’s updates require employers to change certain policies and practices in order to comply with the law. Employers have until December 1, 2016, to implement the changes.

Read an overview of the FLSA changes. More information will be added as Ohio State prepares an implementation plan to comply with the new regulations and support the university community.
