Bucks for Charity Exceeds Goal for Local Community

Giving back is core to Ohio State and, this year, more than 4,000 faculty, staff and retirees raised $1,150,960 for Central Ohio community organizations.

Bucks for Charity is an annual campaign that gives Ohio State employees the opportunity to donate to their local charity of choice. Faculty and staff choose from more than 300 Central Ohio nonprofits that support a variety of causes including education, health, environment, hunger, social justice and many other community needs.

“As the chair of the Bucks for Charity campaign, I had the opportunity to visit local organizations and see the difference our contributions make in the community,” said Miechelle Willis, Deputy Director, Athletics and 2015 Bucks for Charity Chair. “I saw the need in our community first-hand and was inspired to witness what is made possible through our donations.”

During the 2015 campaign, Ohio State faculty, staff and retirees exceeded the goal of raising $1,150,000 to make a positive impact in the Central Ohio community.

“Thank you to every donor who has helped support the people, programs and services that make the Central Ohio community a great place to live and work. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” Miechelle said.
