Faculty and Staff Appreciation Football Game Recognizes Dedication of Ohio State Faculty and Staff

In recognition of their many contributions, the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Football game on Saturday, September 12 offered many faculty and staff who opted in to receive tickets the opportunity to cheer on the Buckeyes with fellow faculty, staff, family and friends.

In addition to each selected recipient being given four tickets to enjoy the game, special game-day activities were planned, including a Faculty and Staff Appreciation Tailgate Party. This year’s tailgate was attended by several thousand guests and provided a pre-game celebration. The tailgate, sponsored by Nationwide, Huntington, Giant Eagle and Coca-Cola, featured free food, a photo booth, raffles and other activities.

The tailgate was also attended by President Drake who expressed his appreciation to those in attendance for their hard work, commitment and passion for Ohio State. He also conveyed his gratitude for all faculty and staff and their commitment to elevate Ohio State’s academic programs and extend the university’s impact.

During the game, faculty and staff award recipients from this past academic year were recognized on the field, including recipients of the Distinguished Staff Award, Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award and Distinguished Faculty Awards.

President Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. has named Katie Hall as senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. Hall has served as the interim senior vice president since last spring and has been with Ohio State for 24 years.
