“Day of Understanding” diversity and inclusion conversations
Join an open-dialogue, conversation on diversity, equity and inclusion on February 25 or 26. In support of the national initiative “Day of Understanding,” 90-minute forums are planned for both days at multiple Ohio State campuses and locations.

Join an open-dialogue, conversation on diversity, equity and inclusion on February 25 or 26. In support of the national initiative “Day of Understanding,” 90-minute forums are planned for both days at multiple Ohio State campuses and locations. The dialogue, led by university Diversity, Equity and Inclusion leaders, will engage faculty and staff in meaningful conversations to broaden perspectives and foster a commitment to action and promotion of inclusivity. Register to attend one of the sessions in BuckeyeLearn. This initiative was developed by CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, and Ohio State is one of more than 850 organizations that have pledged to cultivate workplaces that support open dialogue about diversity and inclusion.

TIME: Multiple 90-minute sessions throughout the day

Supervising Student Employees
This workshop teaches the foundational principles of supervision through the lens of college student employment.

This 2-hour instructor-led workshop covers foundational principles of supervision through the lens of college student employment. Through learning evidence-based practices, and sharing challenges and strategies with others, participants will walk away with practical solutions for supervising students in their own context. Learn to set reasonable yet challenging expectation, offer effective feedback and more.

Supervising Student Employees is provided in partnership by the Office of Student Life and the Office of Human Resources.

Dependent Tuition Assistance Enrollment Window Opens for Summer Semester
The enrollment window for dependent tuition assistance for the 2020 summer semester is March 9 - June 1, 2020. For dependent tuition assistance, applications must be submitted each term.

The Ohio State University offers eligible employees and their dependents the opportunity to advance their education at Ohio State. For dependent tuition assistance, applications must be submitted each term. Summer 2020 term enrollment window is March 9 – June 1, 2020.

Paper and Bytes: Policies, Best Practices, and Resources for Managing Ohio State Records
Become more knowledgeable about university policies, legal requirements, and best practices concerning the retention, management and disposition of records in their care.

The Ohio State University, as a public institution, must comply with laws governing public records.  Effective compliance can only be achieved through proper records management.  This 2-hour instructor-led workshop will help participants become more knowledgeable about policies, legal requirements and best practices concerning the retention, management and disposition of records in their care.  Participants will also learn practical tips and techniques for managing email and organizing electronic records.

Paper and Bytes is provided in partnership by University Libraries and the Office of Human Resources. 

TIME: 1 – 3 p.m.
