In addition to sharing her background, insights on her leadership philosophies and her vision, Susan will talk about women who have served as motivation along her journey as a commemoration of Women’s HERstory Month. Do you sometimes avoid difficult or challenging conversations? Is it hard to decide where to start? Do you have the same conversation more than once with the same person? This 3-hour instructor-led workshop provides tools and practice to help you increase your skill and comfort in engaging in difficult conversations. Learn how to prepare in advance, start the conversation effectively, and maintain a productive environment. We will also discuss handling conversations that become difficult in the moment. Video examples, discussion, and practice provide a rich and interactive environment.

Staff Benefits and Wellness Expo
Formally known as the “Hidden Benefits Fair,” the expo will offer mini-breakout sessions, biometric screenings, professional headshots, department representatives and local organizations

The University Staff Advisory Committee is hosting the inaugural Staff Benefits and Wellness Expo, formally known as the “Hidden Benefits Fair” on Tuesday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ohio Union. In partnership with the Office of the Chief Wellness Officer, Buckeye Wellness, OSU Health Plan and Your Plan for Health, the expo will offer opportunities for staff to sign up for mini-breakout sessions, have an opportunity to complete their biometric screening, have a professional headshot taken by a photographer, and interact with department representatives and local organizations.

TIME: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This webinar provides employees with information needed to successfully navigate benefits choices as a new hire.

This 90-minute webinar  provides you with information that you need to successfully navigate your benefits choices as a new hire. You have 31 days from the effective date of your eligible appointment to enroll in health benefits. During the 31 day enrollment period, you may elect coverage in one of the several medical plans available, dental and vision coverage, dependent and health care flexible spending accounts, short-term disability, dependent group term life insurance, and voluntary group term life insurance coverage.

This online webinar will be presented live by HR benefits consultants and provides you with the opportunity to view it from any computer. You will NOT need to come to the Gateway Building to view the webinar.

During these sessions, Benefits Consultants will compare key features of the medical plans and other health benefits, and will address issues you need to consider when making your decision.

This session will not include information on retirement choices.

This webinar provides employees with the information needed to make an informed choice regarding retirement plan options as a new hire.

This 90-minute webinar will provide you with the information you need to make an informed choice regarding your retirement plan options as a new hire. You have 120 days from the effective date of your eligible appointment to choose a retirement program. During the 120 day enrollment period, you may elect to participate in the Ohio Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP), Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) for staff, or State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) for faculty.

The Office of Human Resources offers retirement choices forums to provide a high level summary of the plans available to new faculty and staff. During these sessions Benefits Consultants will compare key features of the ARP, and OPERS/STRS, and will address issues you need to consider when making your decision.
