Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week
Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week is an annual celebration of Ohio State staff members to recognize their contributions to the university. Throughout the week of July 27-31, 2020, several virtual events and activities will be planned for faculty and staff to thank them for their dedication to advancing the university’s mission.
In light of COVID-19, there will be no in-person experiences scheduled on our campuses. Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the virtual events and activities listed below, which include virtual tours of university landmarks like Ohio Stadium, special promotions, discounts, and other special offerings for Ohio State staff.

As part of the university’s Be Kind initiative, faculty and staff can create and send virtual thank you and kudos greetings during Appreciation Week. Go to the Be Kind website, scroll down to the Give Your Own Kudos link, log in with email@example.com credentials, and send. You can send as many as you want to as many people as you want to appreciate!
Faculty and Staff, have a little fun while out and about while maintaining physical distance! Department of Dance
Historic Costume & Textiles Collection
The Historic Costume & Textiles Collection is a scholarly and artistic resource of apparel and textile material culture. The 11,500+ holdings encompass a range of three-dimensional objects such as textiles and articles of clothing and accessories for men, women, and children, including national dress costume, from the mid-18th century to contemporary 21st century designers. Faculty and Staff may enjoy the following virtual experiences:

- On Wednesday, July 29, from 8-9 p.m., join an online panel discussion of the 2016 film Arrival, based on Ted Chiang’s science fiction novella “Story of Your Life” will be hosted by the following departments at The Ohio State Univerity: Astronomy, Linguistics, Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP), and Philosophy.

Urban Arts Space
Established in 2008, Urban Arts Space is a gallery and reciprocal learning space for students, faculty, and staff of The Ohio State University, as well as the Columbus community at large. Through an extensive and diverse slate of exhibitions, educational programs, outreach, and events Urban Arts Space serves as a community resource and is an integral part of Columbus’s vibrant arts and culture scene.
