Staff Career Development Grants

2013 Staff Career Development Grant Recepients

2013 Staff Career Development Grant Recepients

Human Resources and USAC invite staff to apply for Staff Career Development Grants of up to $500, awarded annually to offset costs associated with staff career goals and professional development. The grant can be used toward expenses that occur during calendar year 2013. Applications available at hr.osu.edu/special/careerdevgrt.pdf. Staff Career Development Grants are funded through contributions to the Campus Campaign and administered by Human Resources, in cooperation with the USAC. Contact Michele Bondurant, bondurant.11@osu.edu with questions.

Grants are awarded for education and training costs related to the applicant's job and/or career goals. Registration fees, fees for conferences and seminars, tuition for re-training, books, transportation costs, childcare expenses, and job search/outplacement expenses are examples of some of the appropriate uses of the grant.  It is a reimbursement grant therefore no funds can be given in advance of approved activities.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. An applicant must meet one of the following conditions:
Must be employed as a regular full- or part-time Classified Civil Service or Administrative and Professional staff member with at least two continuous years of service with Ohio State.   (Grants for part-time employees will be pro-rated on the basis of their full-time equivalence.)
  2. Former Ohio State University staff member with at least two continuous years of university service and currently unemployed due to the elimination of job position.
Faculty, student employees, and staff on temporary appointments are not eligible for this grant.
