Managing Workplace Violence at Ohio State:

Recognize, Respond, Report, and Refer

Thursday, February 9, 1:30-4 p.m.

Workplace and violence are two words that should never be associated with each other. But workplace violence has emerged as a serious safety and health concern in today’s workplace. This new training program is the collaborative result of representatives from various departments and functions coming together with the goal of creating a training session designed to help ensure a safe environment free of violence. Each individual has an important role in recognizing and reporting potential threats and it begins with training. This 2.5-hour classroom training helps staff at Ohio State:

  • Understand the dangers
  • Recognize the warning signs
  • Know our policies and procedures
  • Respond appropriately if violence or threat of violence occurs
