Registration for the 2009 Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibit
Staff wishing to participate in this exhibit can bring their finished piece to the following locations below during the designated dates and times:
Bricker Hall, Room 105
- August 6 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
- August 7 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
- August 10 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
All Ohio State University administrative, professional, and classified civil service staff are invited to participate in the 18th Annual Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibit. Staff may enter one piece of their personally created, visual artwork to display in this year’s exhibit. All artwork must meet the following guidelines:
- All artwork submissions are subject to approval by the Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibit committee and are not guaranteed for display.
- Artwork to be hung must not exceed 48 inches by 60 inches and weigh no more than 25 pounds.
- Artwork for display cases must not exceed 20 inches by 20 inches and weigh no more than 15 pounds.
- Paintings and photographs to be hung must be framed, matted, and wired ready to hang.
- Quilts and fabric entries to be hung must have a sleeve and dowel rod for hanging and must meet the size and weight requirements stated for hanging artwork.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- Any artwork previously displayed in an Ohio State Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibit will not be accepted.
Staff Appreciation Week
August 17-21
This special week is designated by the Office of Human Resources to recognize the thousands of Ohio State staff members for their valuable contributions to the successes of The Ohio State University, its faculty, staff, students, alumni, and customers. Each college, department, and office is encouraged to honor and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of its staff with special activities and events.
18th Annual Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibit
August 20–October 2, (Exhibit open during business hours Monday through Friday)

Opening Reception: Thursday, August 20, 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
Co-sponsored by the Office of Human Resources and the University Staff Advisory Committee, this exhibit showcases the creative, artistic talents of many Ohio State staff. President E. Gordon Gee and the President’s Cabinet will select their favorite entries, to which they will award a ribbon. The popular People’s Choice Award will return to
this year’s exhibit.
Staff can vote for their favorite entry from August 20 to September 11. The entry garnering the majority of votes will earn the People’s Choice Award ribbon and be announced
the week of September 14.
65th Annual Faculty and Staff Retirement Dinner

Faculty and staff who have retired from Ohio State between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009 with 20 or more years of service credit with the university will be honored at a reception and dinner. Attendance is by invitation only.
Faculty and Staff Service Recognition Brunch
December 1–Save the Date!
11 a.m.–1 p.m.
The Blackwell Inn
Faculty and staff celebrating 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years of service will be honored at this annual recognition event. Invitations will be mailed in early November.
