Operation Feed 2009 Drive Concludes
The Ohio State University’s annual Operation Feed food drive concluded in mid-May with another successful drive for the local residents in need.
Faculty, staff, and students collected more than 20,000 pounds of critically needed food items. Campus-wide, teams conducted bake sales, raffles, potlucks, and other special activities to raise cash donations. These efforts generated approximately $43,000, which translates into 86,000 meals for hundreds of local food pantries and community shelters, an overall 7 percent increase over last year’s donations. On behalf of the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, the Office of Human Resources would like to thank everyone who supported Operation Feed 2009.
