Ohio State’s Kindergarten Program
If you’re looking for an alternative to your neighborhood kindergarten program, the answer may be closer than you think. The Ohio State University Child Care Program kindergarten is chartered by the State of Ohio and follows its model curriculum and requirements for teacher certification. Unique features of the kindergarten curriculum include partnerships with several Ohio State colleges that provide math, dance, music, and physical education instruction.
Children who complete the program are satisfactorily prepared for the first grade curriculum in any elementary school. In addition, the Ohio State kindergarten and child care services are blended—children may come to the kindergarten room as early as 7 a.m. and stay as late as 6 p.m. Registration for the 2009-10 school year is underway.
