Operation Feed 2009
April 20–May 15
The Columbus campus will conduct the annual community-wide food drive and fundraising event to help provide nutritious meals for homeless and low-income residents in central Ohio. The Mid-Ohio FoodBank and United Way of Central Ohio sponsor Operation Feed. This initiative collects critically needed non-perishable food for distribution to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters in 19 Ohio counties. All food and monetary donations are used to provide meals for children, senior citizens, and families throughout the year. 2009 Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Awards Luncheon and Program

The University Senate Diversity Committee, in cooperation with the Office of Human Resources, will present Ohio State’s annual Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Awards to this year’s recipients during a luncheon and presentation ceremony. 2009 Distinguished Staff Awards Luncheon

Twelve outstanding university staff members will be honored for their leadership, service, and accomplishments to the university community at this year’s luncheon. Attendance is by invitation only, and nominators, supervisors, senior administrators, and family members of the recipients will be invited to attend.

Ohio State Day at Costco
Sunday, April 19
11 a.m.–4 p.m.
1500 Gemini Place
Costco Wholesale invites faculty, staff, students, and retirees to experience wholesale shopping the Costco way. Employees must show a form of Ohio State ID to gain entry. For this day only, shopping will be permitted without a membership. Purchases must be made with cash, debit card, or American Express only—no exceptions. There will be refreshments and prize drawings. Special incentives will be offered to those who purchase a membership that day. Macy’s Friends and Family Discount Days
April 29–May 4
Faculty and staff will be able to take 10–20% off regular, sale, and clearance-priced items when shopping at Macy’s stores throughout Ohio during these “Friends and Family” discount days. This special discount program is not offered to the general public. Free discount shopping cards will be available after April 15 online and in select college/unit human resources offices, university hospitals human resources offices, and the Office of Human Resources Customer Service Center, Suite 300, 1590 N. High Street.
