UFSAP to Offer Addiction, Stress Workshops
The University Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (UFSAP) will offer two free workshop series winter and spring quarters. All workshops are held at OSU Managed Health Care Systems, 700 Ackerman Road, Suite 100, 5 - 6:15 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited. Attending these workshops can earn you points in the 2008 Faculty and Staff Incentive Program.
Addiction Awareness: Each Tuesday workshop is based on viewing and discussing one of the eight segments of the HBO Series “Addiction.” You may attend all or select just those that interest you:
- January 8 - Brain Imagery
- January 29 - Opiate Addiction
- February 19 - Understanding Addiction
- March 11 - Adolescent Addicts
- April 1 - Alcoholism and the Brain
- April 22 - Family Concerns: Co-occurring Disorders
- May 13 - Treatment Approaches
- June 3 - Opiate Replacement Therapy and a Mother’s Desperation
Stress Management: This educational workshop, repeated on the following Wednesdays, will teach you ways to identify and measure stress and show you techniques and tools to help you manage it.
