How do I find the HR form I need?

Almost any type of change you make at the university involves a form. The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is making these forms easy to find via a forms page on its web site. Whether you need a leave, benefit, employment, or payroll form, you can find them all at one location and organized by topic at the top of the screen. Under “Benefits,” for instance, you’ll find forms dealing with disability, flexible spending, life or medical insurance, and retirement. Under “Payroll,” you’ll find forms for direct deposit or tax issues. Miscellaneous forms are listed at the bottom of the page. Visit hr.osu.edu/forms.

How can I find out which companies are offering discounts to university employees?

Whether you’re looking for discounts on a new car, health and fitness centers, cable TV, or bookstores, check out the web site, hr.osu.edu/special/discounts. Here, you’ll find information about discounts for ongoing programs, such as Ford and General Motors, sporting events featuring the Cincinnati Reds or the Columbus Blue Jackets, or events held at the Schottenstein Arena.

In an effort to ensure that faculty and staff have exclusive access to the offers promoted on Ohio State’s faculty/staff discounts Web page, it will now require visitors to sign in using their name.# and password. This enhancement will enable the addition of new offers that are limited to Ohio State employees and may require restricted access, as well as keep the site protected from unwanted solicitors. General universitywide offers will continue to be listed on the page, and communicated through human resource professionals and Resources, the Office of Human Resources’ quarterly newsletter.

When I apply for a job, how do I know that my application materials were received and processed?

When submitting job application materials, you will receive a confirmation message on the screen immediately after you apply for a specific position. Also, you may check your application status at any time by logging into the system and choosing the “Manage Jobs” option at jobs.osu.edu.

If I apply for an internal position, how do I get the department contact name?

To get a department contact name when applying for a job, simply e-mail your request to service@hr.osu.edu with the specific requisition number.
