Vanpools Offer Ohio State Employees Savings

Picture of people in a vanTired of paying high gas prices for your commute to work? Sick of battling rush hour traffic alone? A dozen other Ohio State workers may be willing to shoulder the commute burden with you.

RideSolutions finds people who live in your area and who commute during similar times to help you save gas, money, and the wear and tear on you and your car. It organizes a group of about 12 people to handle the commute together.

Participants ride in a comfortable van that is driven by a volunteer from the group, and a parking space is reserved on campus for the vehicle in a location near the driver's job site.

In addition, each rider is given 10 single-day surface parking permits for days when the rider needs to commute to campus in their personal vehicle. In case of an emergency or unexpected overtime, a complimentary Guaranteed Ride Home Service (taxi) is also provided with this program.
