W-2 Online

Ohio State is required to furnish all employees with a Form W-2 showing their yearly compensation and tax withholding amounts by January 31 of the following year. You will use the W-2 to complete your yearly tax return by April 15.
By default, you will receive your W-2 by U.S. Mail, but you may instead opt to receive your W-2 online by signing up at the ePayroll web site: https://epayroll.theworknumber.com/.
Did You Receive Your W-2 Online Last Year?
If you previously registered to receive a W-2 online you do not need to do so again. Once you enroll, you will continue to have access to your W-2 online unless you withdraw your consent. To withdraw your consent at any time, simply log in, select "W-2 Services", and then select "Withdraw Consent" under "W-2 Features".
First Time Users
W-2 online is easy, accurate, and secure, but keep in mind that by choosing to receive your W-2 online, you will not receive a paper copy by U.S. Mail. You may enroll by telephone by calling 1-800-996-7566 between 8am and 9pm or online by taking the following steps:
- Visit https://epayroll.theworknumber.com/
- Enter your Employee ID number and your PIN (for more information visit ePayroll Pay Stub)
- Select the option: W-2 Services
- Click on "Consent for online delivery" and follow the prompts that will ask for a primary (and secondary) e-mail address, mailing address, and home/work phone number
- You will receive an email confirming your online delivery consent as well as any changes made to contact information
On or before January 31, you will receive an e-mail notification that your Form W-2 is posted on the secure web site, along with instructions for retrieval. You can then download the W-2 file to your computer or disk and can refer to it, print it, or import it into a tax software package at any time. Keep in mind that by choosing to receive your W-2 online, you will not receive a paper copy of it via U.S. Mail.
Have Your W-2 Reissued
Still want to receive your W-2 by mail but need to have it reissued? You may do so online by taking the following steps:
- Visit https://epayroll.theworknumber.com/ (or call 1-800-996-7566 between 8am and 9pm)
- Enter your eight-digit Employee ID number (Medical Center employees: enter the first eight digits of your ID number) and your PIN (for more information visit ePayroll Pay Stub)
- Select the option: W-2 Services
- Click on W-2 Reprint link
- Select the appropriate tax year and delivery option
- Confirm and print
