Direct Deposit: Information for New Employees
Welcome to The Ohio State University! Now that you are here, have you thought about how you are going to be paid? Direct deposit is the university’s preferred method for paying employees because it is simple, efficient and secure. To enroll in direct deposit, you will need:
- Your 8 or 9 digit OSU ID number (located on your Buck-ID or through your departmental Human Resource Professional)
- Pre-set direct deposit PIN number (your two-digit birth day + the last two digits of your birth year + the last four digits of your SSN)
- Your bank routing and account numbers
With the information above, log-on to ePayroll at epayroll.theworknumber.com/osu. Click the direct deposit icon and follow the web instructions. For more detailed information on how to enroll, please view the Online Direct Deposit Tutorial. Note, you will not have access to direct deposit setup until after the start date of your appointment.
If you do not have a bank account, you can be paid via a pay card, which works as an ATM or check card. By electing to use the pay card, you receive your net pay in a secure account that is set up and maintained by JPMorgan Chase.
