This workshop will review key responsibilities of chairs in leading the promotion and tenure process; highlight important rules and policies; give advice on handling and avoiding procedural errors; and share best practices.

Strategies for Dual Career Hiring

Over 70% of our faculty recruits are part of a dual career couple. Placement of the trailing partner in a suitable position is typically a critical part of the recruiting process. Learn about innovative programs and strategies for dual career placements. The workshop will include a panel discussion with Susan Williams, Vice Provost for Academic Policy and Faculty Resources; Alan Michaels, Dean of the Moritz College of Law; Mark Shanda, Divisional Dean of Arts and Humanities; Peter Hahn, Chair of History; and Jim Beatty, Chair of Physics.
