Benefits Open Enrollment Confirmation Statements are available online and will be accessible until Nov. 27. Visit the Open Enrollment web site for more information. - FSA Processing Deadline is Tuesday at Noon this Week
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, this week’s deadline for submitting Flexible Spending Account claims is Tuesday, Nov. 24 at noon. All claims submitted after this time will be processed next week. - Complete Your PHA by Nov. 30 to Save $240
Remember to complete your Personal Health Assessment (PHA) by Nov. 30 to maximize your 2010 medical plan savings! On Jan. 1 the medical plan premium reduction for completing your PHA will increase to $240. This amount is pro-rated monthly so be sure to complete your PHA by Nov. 30 to get the full $240. The Office of Human Resources now offers New Employee Orientation (NEO) online at hr.osu.edu/neo. This is an opportunity for new faculty and staff to engage in the history, vision, values and culture of Ohio State. Online NEO also includes important human resource information and university resources and links. Current faculty and staff are invited to explore NEO as well. - Columbus Tax Increase Effective Oct. 1
Due to the passage of Issue 1, the City of Columbus is implementing a 0.5% tax increase effective Oct. 1. You will see this change on the following pay dates:
- Biweekly paid: Oct. 23, 2009
- Monthly paid: Oct. 30, 2009
The tax rate increase impacts all individuals residing in as well as those working in the City of Columbus. For more information, see http://hr.osu.edu/payroll/tax.aspx. -
Social Security Numbers Required for all University Medical Plan Enrollees
A new federal law became effective on January 1, 2009 (Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007), which requires employers and health plan administrators to report certain information for individuals covered under a medical plan. In order to comply with this law, Ohio State is required to collect and report Social Security Numbers (SSN) for all employees and their dependents that are covered by one of the university’s medical plans. Starting in September, the Office of Human Resources will hold monthly drawings for those faculty and staff who complete their 2009 PHA. Each month, 10 lucky winners will be awarded a $50 cash card! So, in addition to receiving a medical premium reduction up to $180, you’ll also be entered into a drawing for an additional $50! Monthly drawings will take place in September, October, November and December. If you haven’t taken your PHA yet, visit YourPlanForHealth.com and complete it before November 30 to be entered into one of the upcoming drawings.
