Bucks For Charity Closing Ceremony

Thanks to the generosity of more than 5,200 current and retired OSU faculty and staff, nearly $1.2 million was raised through the 2007 Bucks for Charity Drive. These funds will help support more than 300 central Ohio health, human and environmental services related agencies. The number of donors and donations set another university record, making it the fifth year in a row that donations have surpassed $1 million.   • OSU Recognized for Commitment to Adoption
    Ohio State has been commended for its commitment to families formed through adoption and has been ranked ninth on a list of Ohio's 10 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces for 2008 by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Ohio State also has been ranked fourth in the education industry. The Best Workplaces list is being publicized in Employee Benefit News magazine, online at www.AdoptionFriendlyWorkplace.org, and in media releases.

  • New Benefits Resource Guide for Human Resource Professionals   
    A guide is now available to assist Human Resource Professionals with benefit guidelines and processes. The guide will help HRPs with completing benefit forms, highlight important deadlines and provide information on benefit programs such as Health, Retirement, Flexible Spending Accounts, Tuition Assistance and more. The guide is located at hr.osu.edu/hrpubs/ben/resourceguide.pdf. It will be updated as policies, forms, or benefit programs change. A link to the guide is also located on the HR Professional Resources web page under the Benefits section. 

  • New Health Care Flexible Spending Account Expenses Table
    A new online table featuring eligible/ineligible Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) expenses is now available. It includes color-coded icons to identify items as being a qualifying expense, not a qualifying expense, or a potentially qualifying expense. Potentially qualifying expenses are also explained.   • Faculty and Staff Incentive Program Offers More Frequent Payouts
    Your Plan for Health’s Faculty and Staff Incentive Program is now offering quarterly payouts for those who reach the maximum 125 points. If you track and earn 125 Incentive Program points by June 30, you will receive your payout of $125 (less applicable payroll taxes) in July. Click here for more information.
  • Spring Issue of Resources is Now Online
    The latest issue of Resources, the Office of Human Resources’ quarterly newsletter, is available at hr.osu.edu/resources. In this issue you can read about how a few adjustments to your work station can lead to fewer aches and pains, the online tools available to university health plan enrollees, and the OSU Retirees Association turning 25, plus more information about work, life, and health.
