Culture Consultation
Culture Consultation provides coaching and consulting on shaping and shifting cultures at Ohio State. We work in concert and collaboration with many other functions in the Office of Human Resources.
The purpose of culture shaping is to create the work environment where faculty and staff can thrive, and can best contribute to the strategic priorities of their college or VP unit.
The consulting provided is based on a framework designed to produce sustainable change. In partnership with college and VP unit faculty and staff, we:
- Educate about an integrated and comprehensive approach to culture shaping aligned with the priorities and mission-critical work of the college/VP unit
- Assist with diagnosing the current culture and crafting a vision for the future culture.
- Design and deliver unfreezing experiences. A highly talented and dedicated group of faculty and staff across campus are trained as facilitators and assist in the delivery of these unfreezing experiences.
- Explore with colleges/units/groups strategies for shifting toward the future culture. These strategies might include how to integrate the university’s values into meeting dynamics, how to use communication vehicles to describe and promote the future culture, and how to shift human resource practices to align with the future culture.
- Facilitate meaningful group conversations about their current culture and generating ideas for closing the gap to the future culture.
- Provide resources and support for measuring the success of culture shaping efforts.
