| Consulting Services provides
the following services to Ohio State University faculty
and staff:
Employee Relations
Consulting Services can assist in resolving problems
and conflicts before they escalate to formal grievance
or corrective action. Consultants provide consultation/coaching
to a wide range of customers and, when necessary,
conduct informal mediations and corrective action
and grievance hearings. Consultants interpret policies,
procedures, and labor contracts; serve on joint labor
management committees; and assist with appeals to
the State Personnel Board of Review.
Classification and Compensation
Consulting Services provides expertise from design
and refinement to the implementation of compensation
systems. Consultants offers a wide range of classification
and compensation services: Fair Labor Standards Act
(FLSA) compliance, salary determination, market data,
base pay programs, salary structures, performance
management and merit pay, job evaluation and incentive
systems.
Investigations
Consulting Services provides objective individuals
to perform and assist in thorough investigations of
employee complaints and grievances in the areas of
equal employment, harassment, and workplace violence.
Employment Forecasts & Selection Strategy Development
Consulting Services provides information and consultation
on employment issues including interviewing strategies,
transfers, promotions, demotions, reductions in workforce,
and other employment related activities.
Training Assessment and Organization Development
Consulting Services has consultants on staff to assist
in the design, delivery, and assessment of training
programs on a variety of human resource topics including
Family and Medical Leave, discipline/corrective action,
and writing position descriptions.
