Post-Retirement Benefit

Have you worked at Ohio State for at least 10 years and started planning for retirement? You may want to review the post-retirement benefits available to you and your family. Tuition Assistance, Group Term Life Insurance and a Post-Retirement Death Benefit may be available to you and/or your dependents after retirement from the university.

Are my dependents, spouse, or partner eligible for this benefit?

Your dependents may be eligible for the Tuition Assistance for Dependents program.

 

How/when can I sign up?

If continuing the Group Term Life Insurance you must enroll within 31 days of your retirement date.

 

Will this affect my taxes?

No

 

When can I change my benefit elections?

If you want to waive your Group Term Life Insurance benefit, you may do so by completing and submitting the GTLI Waiver of Entitlement.

 

Have there been any recent changes to this benefit?

No.
 

What would cause this benefit coverage to end?

Group Term Life Insurance can end due to non-payment of premium or cancellation of the group contract

 

What happens to this benefit when I leave OSU?

These benefits are only available to eligible faculty and staff who retire from OSU.
