Dependent Group Life Insurance (DGLI) Eligible faculty and staff may purchase life insurance coverage for a spouse, same-sex domestic partner, and/or children at low monthly fees. This benefit pays up to $10,000 (depending on level of coverage selected) in the event of the death of your covered spouse, same-sex domestic partner, or child.

Are my dependents, spouse, or partner eligible for this benefit? You can choose Dependent Group Life Insurance your spouse, same-sex domestic partner and/or your dependents. An Affidavit of Same-Sex Domestic Partnership for Health Care and Life Insurance Coverages is required. Note: The affidavit included on the DGLI enrollment card is separate from the university's Affidavit of Domestic Partnership that is required to receive such benefits as Family and Medical Leave and sick leave How/when can I sign up? You may enroll within 31 days of a qualifying status change, or transfer to/employment in an eligible appointment by submitting a DGLI Enrollment form. You may enroll at any other time by submitting the DGLI Evidence of Insurability form and the DGLI Enrollment form. Will this affect my taxes? No - premiums for life insurance are taken from your paycheck after taxes. When can I change my benefit elections?
