What is the Ohio State Employee Assistance Program?

EAP is a confidential counseling service for Ohio State employees and their families experiencing some form of personal or work-related distress that can interfere with work performance. All EAP counselors are independently licensed behavioral health professionals with years of experience and a commitment to the university community.

  • Training presentation: "Getting the Most From Your Employee Assistance Program"
  • Brief counseling for stress and other behavioral health issues
  • Assessment and referral to university and community resources
  • Crisis counseling for individuals and workgroups
  • Marriage, family and relationship counseling
  • Referrals for child and elder care and for legal and financial counseling
  • Consultation with managers and supervisors about employee relations problems
  • Work performance counseling
  • Substance abuse assessment and referral
  • Drug free workplace training
  • Training and skill development for individuals and workgroups including:
    • Stress taming and mindfulness
    • Relationship skills
    • Conflict management and resolution
    • Dealing with difficult people and situations
    • Grief and loss
    • Parenting
    • Other workplace related topics
