Undergraduate Student Employees are Eligible for the Following Benefits:

Students are eligible for Student Health Insurance (SHI).

GlobalCare Referral Service (if traveling on university business)
GlobalCare provides you with 24-hour emergency referral to medical care when you travel for university business outside of Ohio and internationally.

Retirement Options
Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS)
Student employees may elect optional exemption from contributing to a retirement account if exemption criteria is met and approved by OPERS

Supplemental Retirement Account (SRA)
Account used for saving additional money toward retirement beyond existing retirement plans.

Provides income replacement due to a work place (occupational) injury or disease that affects your ability to perform your job.

Graduate Associates are eligible for Student Health Insurance (SHI) and for Ohio State Faculty and Staff Health Plans.

Graduate Teaching Associates who already have a previously established open account with STRS may elect to contribute to STRS. Student employees may elect optional exemption from contributing to a retirement account.
